As a teacher, I plan to use several of the concepts presented in Chapter 7, like outlines, idea maps, and flow charts. I will have to have computers in my classroom to teach my students these skills. These concepts can be used in several different ways.
I will absolutely require (and encourage) my students to develop outline, idea map, and storyboarding skills. I believe technology is taking over our future so all students should know the most that they can. These are also ways to stay organized, and many students need that. I believe these skills will help them in the future.
In the past week, I learned how to use Inspiration. I find this tool extremely helpful. I can organize information quickly, and it is easy for others to read. I will use this tool in my educational career when I'm teaching lessons because I feel students can understand it.

I plan to use technology in several of my lesson plans once I become a teacher. One example of a lesson plan for an elementary language arts classroom would be organization. I will teach my students how to map concepts using the program Inspiration. Inspiration converts concept maps to outlines so the students will have both and become organized! I will also use spreadsheets to solve story problems and teach estimation. I will use internet & email to collect data, research, and class discussion. Finally, I will use Presentation software to illustrate steps in procedures of processes.

Florida State's website is overall very good. They have pictures and words on their home screen that are close and correspond with each other. The text is very brief and easy to read. There are only 2 basic colors: white and garnet. Each object on the screen has a meaning so its not distracting. The placement of the items on the screen is clear. FSU's website is also organized!
I think it is great that teacher's have special privaldges when it comes to copyright rules. My teachers have copied textbook chapters when not every student in the class had the book yet. I think it is important to teach the students about plagarism and copyright infringement so they do not do it themself. As a teacher, I will use proper citation when using multimedia materials and I will make sure my students know how to properly cite their own works.

Prompt 2
I have used MS Word several times throughout my educational journey. My teachers have used MS Word for tests, homework, and newsletters. As a student, I've used it to write papers, take notes, and complete homework assignments. It has helped make my assignments more organized and neat. It has been a great tool so far.
I will use MS Word like my teachers before me have, yet I feel like I already know so much more than they did. I will use it for newsletters, homework, and tests. I will hopefully have a monthly or weekly newsletter to keep the parents updated. I will teach my students how to use this tool, because it has been so helpful to me throughout the years.
I have learned so many new skills in this class so far. Some that I think will be especially useful in my educational career are: Inserting pictures and word art, inserting columns, and creating a mail merge document. All these are useful in creating a classroom newsletter and sending it to parents. The biggest tool is the mail merge document because I feel like it will save me a lot of time.
